- Poland: FRANCE TELECOM, allied with Poland's KULCZYK HOLDING, has been selected to engage in exclusive negotiations for the acquisition of 35% of Poland's national telephone operator TPSA -TELEKOMUNIKACJA POLSKA SA. The transaction, the biggest privatisation ever in Central and Eastern Europe, is expected to take place in late June or early July and is worth an estimated USD 4 billion, i.e. around 40 zlotys a share.
