Parliament supports creation of a European research area

Strasbourg, 23/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - With its adoption late last week of the report by Dutch Liberal Elly Plooij-van Gorsel, the European Parliament reacted favourably to the European Commission's communication on the creation of a European research area. This support for the measure initiated by Commissioner Philippe Busquin nevertheless carries with it certain suggestions and qualifications.
