Brussels, 26/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Economic and Social Committee (ESC) is to hold its 372nd plenary session on Thursday 27 April. It will probably adopt three own initiative opinions: i) the Tosh Report on the use of collective and private transport in the urban and suburban environment; ii) the contribution of the ESC (Etty Report) to the UN Summit for Social Development to be held end June in Geneva; iii) the Florio Report on follow-up to the fourth World Conference on Women.
The Committee will take a stance on several legislative proposals or European Commission communications: exchange of information with third countries (Rapporteur Mr Burani), EC/Bulgaria-Hungary combined transport (Rapporteur Mr Kielman), milk distribution in schools (Mr Kienle), Farm prices 2000-2001 (Mr Strasser), European Fund for Refugees (Ms zu Eulenburg), student and teacher mobility (Ms Hornung-Draus), European cooperation for school assessment (Mr Rupp).
