Mr. Moscovici concerned at right in power

Paris, 25/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The French Minister for European Affairs, Pierre Moscovici, said on the radio that, were Silvio Berlusconi to take power in Italy, his alliance with "far-right and xenophobic parties" in the regional elections of 16 April "would raise problems". What "concerns me is Mr. Bossi… the Lega is a nationalist party with xenophobe tendencies", he stipulated, noting that Mr. Berlusconi, in these elections, had "allied himself with what is left of the MSI, the real far right", whereas Mr. Fini's Allenaza Nazionale has "evolved" (According to Mr. Moscovici, "one can at least say that, compared to Mr. Haider's party, Mr. Fini's party is made itself clear").
