The CLT-UFA (Belgian AUDIOFINA and German BERTELSMANN) and British PTV- PEARSON TELEVISION have announced they are merging to give rise to the largest European television group with stock exchange capitalisation of EUR 20 billion. On the basis of the income from the two groups, the new entity will have made a pro forma turnover, in 1999, of EUR 3.78 billion. According to the Financial Times Deutschland, it will be held at 70% by the AUDIOFINA holding (FRERE and BERTELSMANN groups) and at 22%...
