Raise the issue on a visit to India

Strasbourg, 20/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - In a resolution adopted at the end of the emergency debates Thursday afternoon, the EP once again urged India and Pakistan to create the conditions allowing for bilateral talks (with the international backing of the UN, if necessary) so as to reach a settlement to the dispute over Kashmir. Parliament calls on its Delegation for relations with the region to raise the issue on a trip to India, and on European Commissioner Chris Patten to do likewise...
