The BRITISH POST OFFICE (turnover of GBP 3.6 billion in first half 1999) has paid GBP 18 million for Denmark's PAKKE-TRANS AS (express delivery services; 6.5 million packages delivered to 4,000 customers in 1999). It has also bought NPD - NEDERLANDSE PAKKET DIENST- (turnover of NLG 22.9 million in 1998 and 60,000 packages delivered a day, with a workforce of 1,100 and 15 warehouses) for NLG 72 million.
