Spain's TELEFÓNICA (turnover of EUR 22.957 billion in 1999) has offered around EUR 5.5 billion for the Dutch production company ENDEMOL ENTERTAINMENT (television and Internet; turnover of EUR 436.9 million for 1998/99 with a workforce of 2,000 and 15 subsidiaries and joint ventures in Europe). The operation will take place via a public share swap offer by TELEFÓNICA on all ENDEMOL shares.
