Canada's THOMSON CORP plans to sell its press division THOMSON NEWSPAPERS, with the exception of the Canadian daily Globe and Mail, to concentrate on electronic publishing and services. THOMSON NEWSPAPERS publishes 55 dailies and 75 periodicals and offers 400 specialised products and services. Excluding Globe and Mail, this division had turnover of CAD 810 million in 1999.
