Italy's CORNELIANI (turnover of ITL 210 billion in 1999) has created a joint venture with China's JIANGSU SUNSHINE GROUP (sales of USD 460 million in 1998) that will produce a line of menswear to be distributed throughout the People's Republic of China. The initial investment, to be shared by the two partners, totals USD 10 million. The Italian firm will initially be a minority partner but will later raise its stake to 50%.
