ECHO aid of EUR 5 million for Chechnya

Brussels, 21/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission this week approved additional humanitarian aid worth EUR 5 million for civilian victims of the conflict in Chechnya. This aid from the European Community Humanitarian Office will be administered by the local staff of the International Federation of Red Cross, as well as by Crescent Societies and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
