Brussels, 21/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has released 10.9 million euro to finance the "EU-China International Business School" (CEIBS) over the next five years. Set up since 1994 in Shanghai, this training centre in management, administration and commercial techniques organises exchanges between European and Chinese students and professionals. It has helped strengthen Europe's presence in China, while contributing to the spread of the necessary skills for the economic, social and administrative reform processes undertaken in China.
In the second phase, the Commission's declared goal is to develop contacts between European and Chinese education systems and encourage the school's independence. It will, among other things, be a question of consolidating the school's core permanent faculty, encourage and develop networking between the CEIBS and European business schools, professional and sponsor firms, and to promote research activity.
