The European Commission introduced this Tuesday an appeal against France for maintaining its embargo - the appeal by France against the Commission have already been instituted

Brussels, 03/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission will form, this Tuesday, before the European Court of Justice an appeal against France (third step of the infraction procedure under Article 226 of the Treaty) for its refusal to lift the embargo of British beef, in violation of Community law.

"The dossier in being finalised and will leave for Luxembourg tomorrow" declared the Commission spokesperson, on Monday, while explaining to the press that the complexity of the dossier...
