09/07/26 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission opened a new anti-dumping investigation on Thursday 9 July into imports of Chinese lacquered duck. The complaint was lodged on 26 May by five lacquered duck producers from the European Union. The complainants argued in particular that “China’s intervention in the poultry sector, including the duck sector, is codified in its livestock breeding law, which requires State support for the conservation of genetic resources and national breeding programmes”, the notice explains. They also refer to “the promotion of regional animal feed production clusters intended for duck farming, through subsidies granted to local soybean processing plants and compound feed factories, notably in provinces such as Shandong”. The investigation period runs from 1 January to 31 December 2025. See the notice of initiation: https://aeur.eu/f/msf (JV)
