On Monday 13 April, the International Trade Centre (ITC), a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization based in Geneva, unveiled an updated version of its Trade Map.
Since 2001, this tool has recorded the annual trade flows of more than 220 countries and groups of countries, for some 5,300 products. The Trade Map makes it possible to track trade dynamics between countries or organisations. As a result, it is possible to examine trade flows between the European Union and Brazil, or between the EU and the Mercosur countries, over a given period.
The Trade Map is part of a wider range of tools developed by the agency: among them, the Market Access Map helps to track changes in customs duties or trade defence measures applied by a country to specific products. The Export Potential Map identifies major trends in export potential and diversification opportunities for each country.
