29/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 28 August, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe announced that it would be sending a delegation of four of its members to Moldova on 3 and 4 September to assess “the election campaign and political climate” ahead of the parliamentary elections on 28 September. The delegation is due to meet the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu (to be confirmed), the Speaker of Parliament, representatives of parties and coalitions represented in the current Parliament, representatives of the Central Electoral Commission, representatives of the ministries and public institutions responsible for electoral administration, as well as representatives of civil society and the media. The delegation will issue a statement at the end of its visit. A full delegation will travel to Moldova on 28 September to observe the elections alongside other international observers. (VL)
