‘European Peace Facility’ - EU announces new €60 million support for Lebanese armed forces

21/01/25 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 21 January, the EU Council adopted a new €60 million support package for the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), via the ‘European Peace Facility’ (EPF). This third assistance measure will help to strengthen the capabilities of the LAF to enable them, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, to redeploy, secure and maintain stability in the South of Litani Sector of the country, the EU Council said in its press release.
