On Monday, 18 November, the European Commission decided to select 75 programmes that aim to promote European Union agricultural products within the EU and around the world.
The selected programmes will receive €142.6 million in EU funding by the end of 2024 (€143 million in 2023).
This year’s call for proposals resulted in 162 proposals, which covered a wide range of products, including organic products, fresh produce, and quality certification schemes.
The European Commission decided to co-finance 75 campaigns, 58 of which are ‘simple’ programmes implemented by one or more organisations from the same EU country. More than half of the campaigns will focus on non-EU countries such as China, Japan, and Canada. The EU’s co-financing will amount to €94 million for the ‘simple’ programmes.
Seventeen are ‘multi’ programmes co-financed to the tune of €48.6 million and implemented by at least two national organisations from at least two Member States or by one or more European organisations.
