On Friday 25 October, the European Commission proposed to allocate €116 million to Germany and Italy to help them recover from natural disasters.
The aid, which still has to be approved by the European Parliament and the EU Council, comes from the European Union Solidarity Fund, following the severe flooding that hit these countries in May and June 2024.
