At the EU Council’s meeting of energy experts on Tuesday 17 September, the European Commission presented a draft non-binding instrument aimed at initiating discussions on a global commitment to energy storage at COP29, to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, between 11 and 22 November.
This initiative is part of the extension and implementation of the target to triple renewable energies (see EUROPE B13306A6), which will require an increase in global storage capacity.
