European Commission experts examine different approaches to financial reporting including SMEs and non-listed firms

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) presented EU Member State experts, on Wednesday 17 July, with a series of preliminary opinions on possible approaches to financial reporting (see EUROPE B13435A4, B13361A24). 

Following discussions with investors, SMEs and non-listed firms, three approaches have been identified as possible ways forward for the Capital Markets Union.
