EU Council gives green light to revision of Energy Performance of Buildings Directive

12/04/24 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 12 April, the Council of the EU approved the provisional political agreement reached last December on the revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (see EUROPE B13310A6). This new version of the directive targets the achievement by 2030 of a marked reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption in the European Union, with the aim of achieving climate neutrality for buildings by 2050.
