EU deplores new execution

05/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 5 April, the European Union expressed deep regret over the execution of Michael Smith in Oklahoma (USA) - the first in the state in 2024 - and deplored the scheduled execution of Brian Dorsey in Missouri on 9 April. “To date, 37 American states have abolished the capital punishment in law or in practice, and we hope that Oklahoma will eventually join them”, stressed the spokesperson for the European External Action Service in a press release....
