EU imposes definitive anti-dumping duty on certain types of Chinese polyethylene terephthalate

04/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 2 April, the European Commission published an implementing regulation confirming its provisional anti-dumping duty on certain types of polyethylene terephthalate (‘PET’) from China. PET is a petroleum-based plastic used mainly for drink packaging. The Commission’s investigation showed that Chinese imports of these products were sold at artificially low prices, forcing EU industries to reduce their prices accordingly and sell at a loss. The...
