Euro App Mobility launches “call for action for European area of vocational education and training

Euro App Mobility, an association that aims to promote international mobility for apprentices and work-linked training students, organised the ‘2nd General Assembly On Mobility Of Apprentices in Europe’ on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 April in Brussels.

This event, which coincided with the closing of the European Year of Skills, brought together nearly 300 key players in vocational training from across the European Union.

The meeting highlighted the importance of international mobility for vocational training pathways, providing a unique platform for discussing national initiatives, identifying challenges and developing strategies to strengthen the European Education Area.

The programme was structured around workshops at the Committee of the Regions and a plenary session at the European Commission, featuring leading speakers and vocational training experts. The aim of these discussions was to facilitate the mobility of apprentices and to extend this opportunity to more people.

Frenchman Jean Arthuis, Chairman of Euro App Mobility and a former minister, closed the proceedings with “a call to action for a European area of apprenticeship and vocational training”, underlining, during his keynote address to the European Commission on the morning of Thursday 4 April, the need for high-quality vocational training to guarantee prosperity and strengthen the European single market.
