Josep Borrell calls for end to “humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza

On Tuesday 5 March, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, discussed the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in a European External Action Service blog, 3 days after urging the UN to call for an urgent cessation of hostilities in the Middle East (see EUROPE B13363A20).

“The international community needs to take decisive steps to save Gazan civilians from both starvation and violence”, wrote Mr Borrell, arguing that the humanitarian aid...
