At the Energy Council on Monday 4 March, the Belgian Presidency of the EU Council devoted the afternoon working session to flexibility as an essential tool in the energy transition and to enable decoupling from Russian fossil fuels (see EUROPE B13363A2).
The goal of flexibility is to maintain a stable network where electricity supply and demand are equal at all times, by acting on consumption (demand response), electricity generation or storage.
