On Friday 23 February, the Committee of Professional Agricultural Organisations in the European Union (Copa) and the General Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives in the EU (Cogeca) condemned the “avalanche of standards and directives” descending on the shoulders of EU farmers.

Christiane Lambert, President of Copa, said she hoped that the work launched by the European Commission to simplify the rules of the Common Agricultural Policy would lead to concrete results. The...
