EU hopes Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger will resume dialogue with ECOWAS

In the evening of Wednesday 31 January, the European Union expressed its regret at the announced withdrawal of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger from ECOWAS, to which the military authorities of the three countries sent formal notification on Monday in the case of Mali and Burkina Faso, and on Tuesday in the case of Niger. On Tuesday, the African Union expressed its “deep regret”.
