Didier Reynders announces future adequacy decision on data transfers between EU and international organisation

On Thursday 16 November, the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, announced at the IAPP Europe Congress in Brussels that the European Commission should announce “next month” an adequacy decision on the transfer of data between the EU and an “international organisation”.

Although the European Commissioner did not reveal the name of the organisation in question, this procedure would be a first, as adequacy decisions have so far been concluded with other States.
