At the Ecofin Council on Friday 14 July, European finance ministers discussed the customs reform presented by the European Commission in May (see EUROPE B13184A4). Despite the positive reception, some of the provisions raise questions for certain Member States.
The package comprises three measures: - a new EU Customs Data Hub; - a new authority, the EU Customs Authority; - a more modern framework for online trade.
