In a statement published on Wednesday 5 July, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) condemned “repeated evidence of racism in policing in some EU countries”.
The FRA points out that its reports show that “ethnic minorities often experience racist harassment and violence, including at the hands of the police”. Eighty per cent of people said they had been treated with respect by the police, compared with 46% of minorities.
