Pioneering regulation to combat global deforestation caused by EU is adopted

The EU regulation to significantly reduce the EU’s contribution to global deforestation and forest degradation has been adopted. The EU Council on Tuesday 16 May without debate formally adopted this pioneering legislation which will impose mandatory due diligence throughout the supply chain (see EUROPE B13078A9, B13165A12).
