EU sanctions nine additional Burmese individuals and seven entities

The EU has decided to extend sanctions against Myanmar, 2 years after the coup d’état of 1 February 2021. It added nine individuals and seven entities to its sanctions list. The measures involve a freeze on their assets in the EU and an entry ban for individuals. 

These include the Burmese Minister of Energy, businessmen who supplied the regime with arms and dual-use goods, cadres of the armed forces and Yangon Region politicians and administrators involved in the execution of four...
