Significant increase in high incomes in banking sector in 2021

In 2021, compared to 2020, the increase in the number of bankers earning a high income (more than €1 million) rose by 41.5% – from 1,383 to 1,957 people – the highest total since 2010, according to an analysis published by the European Banking Authority (EBA) on Thursday 19 January.

The highest paid bankers in Europe are located in Spain, Germany and France.
