10/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced on Thursday 10 November, during a visit to Chisinau, a €250 million support package to help Moldova. €200 million - €100 million in grants and €100 million in loans - will help the country meet its gas supply needs and should be available from January. The remaining €50 million will be used to support the Moldovan budget. The Commission President added that the EU was working closely with donors to provide further help to Moldova through the support platform, which will meet on 21 November in Paris, including to set up an energy rescue programme for Moldova to enable donors to support energy purchases.
