Meeting in New York on Thursday 22 September, the G7 foreign ministers discussed the human rights situation in China. They welcomed the report published by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on human rights violations in Xinjiang province.
According to a statement, the G7 members underlined “the importance of the United Nations following up on [this] report”. They also “urged China to fully respect human rights”.
