Imminent presentation of new macrofinancial assistance to Ukraine

05/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission is expected to present a new proposal for macrofinancial assistance of €5 billion to Ukraine this week for discussion at the informal meeting of Finance Ministers on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September in Prague. One of the issues regarding this support is the provision of public guarantees by Member States for this new loan, as the EU budget for 2021-2027 no longer has sufficient margins.
