Emmanuel Macron in favour of capping price of Russian pipeline gas

05/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 5 September, following a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron said France was in favour of capping the price of Russian gas delivered to Europe by pipeline as well as joint gas purchasing practices. “If the (European) Commissionwere to decide upon a ceiling for the price of gas bought through pipelines from Russia, France would support such a measure”, he said, while the European Commission was examining...
