European Commission exempts imports of vital equipment for Ukrainians from customs duties and VAT

On Friday 1 July, the European Commission authorised Member States to temporarily waive customs duties and VAT on the importation from third countries of foodstuffs, blankets, tents, electric generators and other vital equipment for war-affected Ukrainians.

This measure, requested by the Member States, will apply retroactively from 24 February 2022 and will be in force until 31 December 2022.
