Brussels, 28/02/2022 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 22 February, the European Commission launched a call for contributions for an impact assessment with a view to making a proposal for a directive in the field of health and safety at work on the protection of workers from exposure to asbestos. This is a specific request from the European Parliament (see EUROPE 12816/11) to reduce occupational exposure to asbestos in the EU, in particular as part of the EU’s comprehensive framework for the renovation of buildings to combat climate change. Three options are on the table, according to the European Commission document: - do nothing; - present a legislative option; - submit a non-legislative option in the form of guidance documents. The contribution period is open until 22 March. To access: https://aeur.eu/f/iu (PH)
