EU imposes fourth round of sanctions on Myanmar officials

The EU Council adopted, on Monday 21 February, new sanctions against 22 Myanmar individuals and 4 entities. This is the fourth set of sanctions since 1 February 2021 (see EUROPE B12745A2). The EU is “deeply concerned about the continuing escalation of violence in Myanmar”. 

Those targeted include government ministers, a member of the State Administration Board, members of the Union Election Commission and the armed forces. The entities are private or state-owned companies that provide...
