03/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, will visit Ukraine from Tuesday 4 to Thursday 6 January to underline “the EU’s strong support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity at a time when the country is facing military build-up and hybrid actions by Russia”, the European Commission announced on Monday 3 January. Borrell will first travel with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to eastern Ukraine and the contact line. He will then go to Kiev where he will meet the Ukrainian authorities. The High Representative spoke to Mr Kuleba by telephone on 23 December and mentioned that any further military aggression against Ukraine would have “massive consequences and costs”. (CG)
