EFSA assesses welfare of sheep and goats during slaughter

08/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published on Monday 8 November a scientific opinion and recommendations on the welfare of sheep and goats during slaughter operations. The EFSA has identified 40 welfare hazards for these animals, most of which are related to stunning (before slaughter) and bleeding procedures.
