Council of EU seeks to finalise its position ahead of COP26

On Thursday 16 September, the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union sent the Member States draft conclusions to prepare for the 26th United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP26), which will be held in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November.

Stressing the need for “much more global ambition ” to keep the +1.5°C warming target within reach (in line with the Paris Agreement), the Slovenian document includes a call for “all parties (at COP26)...
