25/08/2021 (Agence Europe) – On 18 August, the European Commission opened a window for contributions to the draft act on the sharing of geospatial data on the environment (INSPIRE), which is to end on 15 September. The aim is to simplify regulation 1089/2010 on the implementing rules for directive 2007/2/EC on the interoperability of spatial data sets and services. One of the main simplifications is the removal of all values from the code lists and enumerations in the Regulation, to allow for more regular updating of values in line with technological developments. The INSPIRE initiative aims to make spatial information available to relevant services for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of EU policies.
