On Thursday 19 August, the European Commission presented a roadmap detailing several options for the eventual revision of the Combined Transport Directive, which is intended to encourage a shift from road freight to lower-emission transport modes.
This initiative is part of the ‘Fit for 55’ legislative package presented in mid-July, which should lead to a 55% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in the EU by 2030 (see EUROPE B12762A1).
