European Commission approves €108 million in Danish aid for Bavarian Nordic’s research and development activities

23/08/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 August, the European Commission authorised a Danish aid measure worth €108 million to support the coronavirus-related research and development (R&D) activities of Bavarian Nordic, a company active in the development and manufacture of vaccines. The scheme was approved under the State Aid Temporary Framework. Public support will take the form of a repayable advance. The measure aims to support the development of a new vaccine against coronavirus, developed by AdaptVac and licenced to Bavarian Nordic. The vaccine candidate is currently in Phase II clinical trials. (LC)
