EU denounces conviction of human rights defender Semyon Simonov

14/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service denounced the sentence passed down the previous day by a Russian court in Sochi to the director of the Southern Human Rights Centre. The “prominent” human rights defender, Semyon Simonov, was sentenced to community service for alleged violations of the law on “foreign agents”. He was sentenced to 250 hours of community service for an unpaid fine imposed on the centre under the law....
