EU Council endorses ‘Climate Law’

28/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the European Union formally adopted the ‘Climate Law’ on Monday 28 June at a meeting of the Member States' Ministers for Agriculture and Fisheries. In addition to enshrining in EU legislation the goal of climate neutrality by 2050, this regulation sets a binding target of reducing the EU’s net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 55% by 2030 (in comparison with 1990 levels), as well as a negative emissions target after 2050.
